Fresh winds are expected to hit parts of the UAE, causing dust and rendering low horizontal visibility, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has advised.

“Fresh Northwesterly winds and strong at times with a speed reaching 45kph, causing blowing dust and sand, reducing the horizontal visibility to less than 3000m at times over some exposed areas especially Westward, from 8am until 6pm, Sunday,” the NCM said on Twitter. Overcast conditions are expected to linger on today and carry forward to tomorrow and Tuesday.

The centre also issued a sea alert, advising residents to exercise caution in light of rough sea conditions. “The sea will be slight to moderate becoming rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea,” NCM said in its weather bulletin.

The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of 24.3°C in Raknah (Al Ain region) at 5.30am this morning.

Temperatures will hit lows of 26°C and highs of 40°C amid the coastal areas today, while it will hover between 24-45°C in the internal areas, and range between 22-38°C in the mountains, the NCM added.
