The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted intermittent rain showers from Monday, August 5, through Thursday, August 8, for various parts of the country.

These weather conditions are attributed to the influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and upper-level pressure systems.

The NCM forecast that the eastern and southern regions of the country will experience wet weather during this period, along with a slight drop in temperatures. Some areas have already been affected by downpours.

The NCM indicated that this weather system could bring light to moderate winds, occasionally fresh, blowing from the southeast to northeast and occasionally shifting to northwesterly.

Expected weather conditions

Most regions in the UAE will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies from Monday to Thursday. Additionally, there is a likelihood of rainfall, especially in the eastern and southern parts of the country, with intermittent precipitation.

Wind

Winds will transition from southeasterly to northeasterly, occasionally becoming northwesterly. They are expected to be light to moderate, with occasional fresh gusts due to convective clouds, which could result in blowing dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility.

Sea conditions

The Arabian Gulf will experience slight to moderate sea conditions, while the Oman Sea will be slight to moderate, potentially becoming rough at times on Tuesday, said the NCM.

The NCM forecast a maximum temperatures 45 degrees C on Monday with lows of 28 degrees C inland. These conditions are anticipated to persist through midweek.
