Home GCC UAE UAE to automatically renew residency visas of domestic helpers, labourers Also, those whose work permits have expired can renew them without undergoing medical tests by Varun Godinho March 26, 2020 As part of the UAE’s efforts to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the country’s Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship announced on Wednesday that work permits and residence visas will be issued and renewed automatically for labourers employed by companies and support service staff such as domestic workers, reported official news agency WAM. Also, those whose work permits have expired will be exempted from the otherwise mandatory medical tests required to renew their visas. Once the fees are paid, they can continue to remain legal residents of the UAE.
