UAE reports 427 new Covid-19 cases, 341 recoveries

The UAE government reported that it had identified 427 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, August 29.

The overall number of cases detected in the country now stands at 69,328.

The new infections were found following 88,803 tests conducted to screen for the virus over the preceding 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention said that 341 individuals had recovered from the virus too.

The total number of recoveries therefore stands at 60,202.

The ministry added that there were no Covid-19 related fatalities over the previous 24 hours.

As schools in the country reopen, the Ministry of Education has warned that schools will have to be closed in the event that there is a spike in Covid-19 cases.

It has outlined four levels of risk – low, moderate, high and extreme – based on statistical calculations, determining the threat to schools linked to the number of new Covid-19 infections in the community.
