UAE reports 393 Covid-19 recoveries, no deaths

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the UAE stands at 55,848

The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said on Wednesday that 275 new Covid-19 were detected as a result of over 48,000 tests conducted to screen for the virus.

The ministry added that it aimed to expand its scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases, reported WAM.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the UAE stands at 55,848.

MoHAP confirmed that another 393 individuals had fully recovered from virus too, raising the total number of recoveries to 46,418.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Force took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm that no Covid-19 related deaths had occurred over the previous 24 hours.

“Our deepest gratitude to our frontline heroes and to society for their commitment to adhering to precautionary measures. We must continue our collective efforts in tackling this challenge,” tweeted Sheikh Mohamed

The UAE government said earlier this week that it will begin testing two Covid-19 vaccines among 15,000 volunteers in the UAE following approvals to do so from the Ethics Committee Scientific research in Abu Dhabi.

If successful, a vaccine for the virus could enter the market by the end of 2020 or early 2021.
