UAE reports 239 Covid-19 cases, 230 recoveries

The overall number of recoveries has risen to 56,245

The UAE government reported 239 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, August 8, as a result of 63,792 tests that were undertaken to screen for the virus.

The total number of infections recorded in the country has risen to 62,300.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention said that the newly identified cases were undergoing treatment.

Also, there were no deaths recorded in the preceding 24 hours as a result of the virus.

The total count of fatalities as a result of the virus remains at 356.

The ministry reported 230 recoveries too. The overall number of recoveries has risen to 56,245.

The government also said that volunteers for the ongoing Phase III inactivated Covid-19 vaccine trials are able to use the Al Hosn app to identify themselves starting from Saturday, after updating the app.

The Al Hoshn app will display information regarding the individuals’ date, vaccine dose and stage of the dosage administered to volunteers.

Earlier this month, the Department of Health Abu Dhabi in collaboration with G42 Healthcare and Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA) opened a new field clinic at ADNEC to accepts walk-in vaccine volunteer registrations. The facility will also serves as a testing facility for the volunteers who want to participate in the trials.
