UAE reports 1,007 Covid-19 cases, highest since the outbreak

The UAE has reported 1,007 new Covid-19 cases on September 12, its highest daily increase in new infections since the virus outbreak was first recorded in the country.

The second highest daily rise in infections, equalling 994, was reported on May 22, according to statistical website worldometer.

The new cases were detected, as a consequence of 95,287 tests conducted by UAE health authorities, to screen for the virus.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention also confirmed 521 additional recoveries and one death.

The overall infection count has risen to 78,849, while the total recoveries tally 68,983.

The death toll across the country stands at 399.
