The UAE recorded a maximum temperature of 49.1 degrees C in the Al Dhafra region of the country. Heatwaves across the world The UAE is not alone in recording such high temperatures. Countries such as the US, and Mexico have recorded intense heat waves over the past week. China is experiencing a scorching heat wave as temperatures broke records in Beijing. The UK too has witnessed its hottest June on record. The world also witnessed the hottest day on record on July 3, with the average worldwide temperature was 17 degrees C (63F).
