Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, issued a directive on April 20, urging property developers and community management companies across the emirate to support communities affected by the recent floods.

In the wake of the unprecedented storm that battered the UAE last week, leaving numerous roads, buildings, and homes inundated, residents are now grappling with the aftermath of the deluge.

The directive, issued by Sheikh Hamdan, outlines a comprehensive set of essential services that are to be provided to affected Dubai residents at no extra cost.

Services to be offered by Dubai real estate developers

• Free temporary housing for residents impacted by the adverse weather conditions.
• Distribution of food within affected communities to ensure basic necessities are met.
• Assistance with returning to residential properties, including provision of interior cleaning services.
• Enhanced security measures to safeguard the safety of all residents amidst the recovery process.
• Monitoring and documentation of damages incurred during the insurance coverage period.
• Assistance in assessing potential risks to properties to mitigate future challenges.

This initiative, spearheaded by Sheikh Hamdan, aims to swiftly alleviate the effects of the storm and facilitate the restoration of normalcy in affected communities.

Which real estate developers have announced help?

Several prominent Dubai property developers, including Emaar, Nakheel, Dubai Holding, Union Properties, Dubai Investments Park, and MAG Lifestyle Development, have pledged their support for the initiative.

Working in collaboration with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), these developers have committed to providing necessary assistance to affected residents.

Moreover, leading developers such as Emaar and MAG have announced plans to cover repair costs within their respective communities, further aiding in the recovery efforts. Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar Properties has also announced the company’s initiative to repair all homes within its communities affected by the recent severe weather, at no cost to residents.
