The pardoned prisoners had been sentenced to jail terms for a variety of offences, official news agency WAM reported. The President’s annual pardon ahead of Eid Al Adha aims to enhance family cohesion and grants the released prisoners an opportunity to restart their lives. The first day of the occasion will fall on Saturday, July 9. As per the regulations, the duration of Eid prayers will be limited to 20 minutes, during which worshippers must wear masks and maintain a distance of at least one metre. The use of personal or disposable prayer mats has been also advised.
