Home Covid-19 UAE: PCR validity on Al Hosn green pass reduced to 14 days from 30 The update comes in consolidation of the proactive measures to enhance the efforts made at the country level as part of the post Covid-19 recovery strategy by Gulf Business December 2, 2021 The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), in cooperation and coordination with other competent authorities nationwide, has announced the update of the green pass protocol on Alhosn app, starting from December 5, state news agency WAM reported. A negative PCR test result will see the Alhosn status appear green for 14 days only instead of the current 30 days, after which it will revert grey until a new negative PCR test is received. The update comes in consolidation of the proactive measures to enhance the efforts made at the country level as part of the post Covid-19 recovery strategy, initiatives and plans, to address the pandemic variants, and to ensure safe movement and tourism nationwide. Meanwhile, the country detected on December 1, the first case of the Omicron variant. The new variant was identified in an African woman coming from an African country via an Arab nation. The detected case is fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as per the approved health protocols in place in the UAE. Read: UAE detects first case of Covid Omicron variant MoHAP said the infected case has been examined and isolated along with her contacts, adding that the patient is exhibiting no symptoms of the disease and that all the necessary health measures have been taken.
