Home UAE Dubai UAE National Day fireworks at the Palm Fountain cancelled for ‘safety reasons’ The special shows are taking place between December 1-3 by Aarti Nagraj December 2, 2020 The UAE National Day fireworks show set to take place at the Palm Fountain in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah between December 1-3 has been cancelled, organisers said. On its Instagram page, The Pointe mall confirmed that “for safety reasons there will be no firework shows”. The fireworks were initially slated to take place along with a live orchestra as well as the fountain – which recently bagged the record for being the world’s biggest. Also read: Five top Dubai attractions that are now open While the live orchestra on December 2 featuring the performance of a never heard song written by Emirati composer Ihab Darwish has been put on hold, the fountain show will proceed as planned, organisers confirmed. In response to a query, the mall said: “We apologise for the inconvenience. We understand your frustration however the firework show was cancelled due to new regulations imposed.
