MoHRE said that private sector employees in the UAE will get three official holidays on the occasion of the 52nd UAE National Day. December 2, 3 and 4 will be a paid public holiday for private sector workers. The update sets up private sector workers for a 3-day long weekend come next week. We announce that 2nd and 3rd December 2023 will be a paid public holiday for private sector workers in the UAE on the occasion of the 52nd UAE National Day. UAE National Day holiday The UAE National Day is also referred to as Union Day, as the country marks the official unification of the emirates in 1971. Last year, the private and public sectors were given a day off on December 1 to mark Martyrs’ Day, now known as Commemoration Day. Combined with the National Day holidays, workers had enjoyed an extended break at the start of December.
