Home Covid-19 UAE minister of cabinet affairs receives first dose of Covid-19 vaccine The UAE has reported a total of 132,629 Covid-19 infections since the virus first broke out across the country by Zainab Mansoor November 1, 2020 Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, has received the Covid-19 vaccine to support the national efforts to address the pandemic. Al Gergawi stressed on the role of the health sector and the medical personnel and their contributions to support the country’s efforts to address the pandemic, official news agency WAM reported. Several healthcare and state officials have been administered the vaccine to mitigate the contagion. Last month, the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Director-General of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) Obaid Rashid Al Shamsi, were administered a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Read more: UAE health minister gets first dose of Covid-19 vaccine The UAE reported 1,121 new coronavirus cases on October 31, having conducted 143,991 additional tests over the preceding 24 hours, to screen for the same. The total number of recorded cases in the UAE have now risen to 132,629. Meanwhile, with five additional fatalities, the number of deaths total 495. The health ministry asserted that an additional 1,295 individuals had fully recovered.
