Home Industry Manufacturing UAE launches programme to export Emirati tech products worth Dhs15bn annually The programme aims to develop 1,000 technological projects by Zainab Mansoor October 12, 2022 The UAE has launched a national programme to accelerate the pace of technological transformation across priority sectors. According to official news agency WAM, the programme is tailored to achieve a set of goals, primarily contributing Dhs110bn to the NDP; enabling Dhs15bn worth of advanced Emirati exports annually; developing 1,000 technological projects; investing Dhs11bn in advanced technology; and nurturing Emirati talent across advanced technology projects within 10 years. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the programme. “We launched a national programme to accelerate the pace of technological transformation in the industrial and production sectors. The programme will make it possible for technology developers, entrepreneurs and emerging technology firms to experiment with technology in the UAE and transit from it for global transformational projects with a tangible impact,” Sheikh Mohamed noted. The programme will be set in motion through the launch of five initiatives: fourth industrial revolution index; industrial empowerment centres; advanced technology incentives; future plant award; and experimental ecosystem for testing advanced technology. In March 2021, the Industrial Strategy “Operation 300bn” was launched, to empower and expand the industrial sector to become a propeller of a sustainable national economy, increasing its GDP contribution to Dhs300bn by 2031.
