Rainfall is expected across the UAE over the next five days with the possibility of a tropical cyclone formation in the Arabian Sea, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said on Sunday.

Heavy rains were reported on Sunday in parts of the country including Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Videos posted on social media also showed parts of the country hit by hail.

An extension of a “weak low pressure” from the south has caused the rainy weather conditions, the NCM said.

The NCM also warned that heavy clouds, rains and winds will causing blowing dust and sand, reducing visibility on the roads.

The weather is expected to be humid by night and Monday morning over some coastal areas with a probability of mist formation.

Temperatures will range between 25 and 38 degrees celsius in the coastal and island areas, 23 and 39 degrees celsius in the internal areas and 17-31 degrees in the mountains.

The weather will remain cloudy throughout this week, with the NCM also warning about the possibility of a cyclone forming on Thursday, October 24.
