Home GCC UAE UAE detects five new cases of monkeypox The ministry called for obtaining information from official sources in the UAE by Zainab Mansoor June 8, 2022 The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has reported five new cases of monkeypox on June 7. The ministry urged all to follow appropriate preventive measures and precautions while travelling and to stay safer in large crowds and avoid risky behaviour. It also reassured all that the UAE health authorities were undertaking all measures, including investigation, examination of contacts, and monitoring their health. Additionally, it called for obtaining information from official sources in the UAE, and for refraining from spreading rumours and false information. The ministry also announced the recovery of two cases of monkeypox patients who were receiving medical care in government hospitals, official news agency WAM reported. The latest announcement follows the detection of four cases last week.
