UAE Announces Holiday For Isra’a Wal Miraj On May 16
Private sector employees who have a holiday on Saturday will not be given a compensatory day-off.

The UAE Federal Government Human Resources Authority has announced Saturday, May 16, as a public holiday to mark Isra’a Wal Miraj, it was reported by local dailies on Monday.
Authorities clarified that private sector employees who already have a holiday on Saturday will not be given a compensatory day-off, in line with existing regulations.
Isra’a Wal Miraj, or The Night Journey, refers to a journey undertaken by Prophet Mohammed from Mecca to Jerusalem in one night.
