UAE announces 812 new Covid-19 cases, total death toll rises to 244

The UAE reported 812 new Covid-19 cases in the country late on Saturday, taking the total number of reported infections to 28,704, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced.

The new cases include people from different nationalities, all of whom are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary care, the ministry said.

They were identified after over 39,000 additional coronavirus tests were conducted in the country, in line with MoHAP’s plans to intensify virus screening and contain its spread.

The ministry also announced the death of three patients of different nationalities from Covid-19, taking the total of deaths in the country to 244.

Meanwhile 697 additional patients have recovered after the necessary medical treatment, taking the total number of recoveries to 14,495.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients.

It also called on the public to co-operate with health authorities and comply with all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing.
