UAE declares 3-day mourning period to condole Kuwait Emir Sheikh Nawaf’s death

The UAE has officially declared a three-day period of mourning following the demise of Kuwait’s ruling Emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, on Saturday.

According to a statement released by WAM, the state news agency, the mourning period has been confirmed for three days, during which flags will be flown at half-mast across all official departments within the country, as well as at the nation’s embassies and diplomatic missions abroad.

The Kuwaiti royal court had earlier confirmed the passing of the country’s leader on Saturday.

In a statement, they expressed deep sorrow, mourning the loss of Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait.

UAE leaders condole death of Kuwait’s Emir

Leading the tributes, the UAE’s President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, conveyed his condolences. The Presidential Court issued a statement expressing mourning for Sheikh Nawaf’s passing.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, offered condolences in a post, highlighting the late Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah’s six-decade service to his country, his dedication, and his honorable journey.
