Tawam Hospital in Al Ain has launched two mobile Covid-19 screening clinics to help screen and identify those who have contracted the virus.

The hospital – an Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) facility – said that the clinics are stationed in two different locations.

The first clinic, based opposite Al Jimi Malla, is open for testing seven days a week from 12pm-7pm.

The second clinic meanwhile is located at Al Ain’s Hili Industrial Zone and is also open seven days a week but its operating times are from 10am-5pm.

The testing would be carried out by a team of medical professionals including ten doctors, nurses and assistants in each clinic, confirmed Tawam Hospital’s executive director of operations, Yousef Al Ketbi.

The screening procedure includes measuring body temperature, examining individuals for any symptoms, carrying out a medical survey and taking a swab sample.

Individuals will be informed about their test results within 48 hours after they have been screened.

The emirate of Abu Dhabi, which includes the Al Ain region, has also recently opened Covid-19 Prime Assessment Centres in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and Al Ain Convention Centre with a capacity of 2,000 and 1,500 respectively.

Patients who test positive for the virus will receive an SMS directing them to visit one of the Covid-19 Prime Assessment Centres with colour-coded sections to help navigate within the facility.

Here, their vital signs are checked, they are advised on home quarantine guidelines, re-tested to confirm the original assessment of having contracted the virus and also be referred to a hospital in case they are found to be in an unstable condition.

Earlier this week, the UAE’s health entities confirmed that they have conducted more than 2.5 million tests for Covid-19 in the country since the pandemic began.
