Civil defence firefighters managed to contain the fire, which damaged several shops and the facades of six buildings. According to the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, all injured have received the necessary medical care in the emirate’s healthcare facilities. The statement, however, did not mention, the number of injured people. The department is coordinating with relevant embassies and the patients’ families to facilitate their visits. The area is thickly populated with several residential buildings and restaurants. The spokesperson at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said that 106 Indians were hurt in the incident.
