The Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre which rebranded as Abu Dhabi Mobility (AD Mobility) earlier this year, has warned motorists of a temporary closure on the Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road also referred to as Emirates Road (E11).

The road closure on Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road is for traffic moving towards Dubai. The closure has been affected for emergency road works, said AD Mobility in its post on X.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) too, cautioned drivers to expect delays on the Emirates Road (E11), between the intersection of Hatta Road and Al Ain Road. Traffic is expected to be impacted due to road works until August 31, said the RTA.

Earlier, AD Mobility announced a partial road closure on the E10 stretch towards Abu Dhabi. The three right lanes of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road would be closed until August 3, 5am.

E11

E11 is the arterial highway that connects all the emirates, except Fujairah, and is hence referred to as Emirates Road. With a total length spanning 558.4 kilometres, it is the longest road in the UAE.

The E11 is known by different names in different emirates.

  • Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road
  • Dubai: Sheikh Zayed Road
  • Ras Al Khaimah: Sheikh Muhammad bin Salem Road

The E11 runs connects the UAE’s busiest locations such as Al Majaz in Sharjah, Bur Dubai in Dubai and the Abu Dhabi International Airport, in the capital.
