The New Murabba Development Company unveiled the plans for the new stadium on Tuesday with the project set to become part of the “New Murabba” downtown destination in Riyadh. “The New Murabba Stadium embodies our commitment to transforming Riyadh into a global destination for sports and entertainment,” said Michael Dyke, CEO of New Murabba Development Company. (Supplied) New Murabba is one of Saudi Arabia’s new megaprojects which is set to create a new modern downtown, extending over an area of 19 million square metres. Upon completion, the development will overlook a project dubbed the Mukaab, a towering square-shaped structure that will feature Najdi architecture along with cutting-edge technologies, including immersive digital and holographic experiences. The Mukaab will house hospitality, retail, cultural, and tourist attractions, along with residential and hotel units, commercial spaces, and recreational facilities. Pictured: The Mukaab project. The New Murabba development will further contain more than 80 entertainment and cultural areas for 420,000 residents. The New Murabba Stadium is expected to host a variety of events beyond sports, including gaming competitions and exhibitions.
