Suspicious package found on Dubai-Amritsar SpiceJet flight

Officials in India have found a “suspicious bag” onboard an aircraft operated by airline SpiceJet that came from Dubai on Thursday morning, local media reported.

The package was found onboard the flight at the Amritsar airport in Punjab.

All the passengers were offloaded from the flight and have been taken to a safe place, the reports said.

The plane is reportedly being investigated by a bomb disposal squad.

The low cost airline began six-time weekly flights between Amritsar and Dubai in November last year.

The route is operated on a Boeing 737NG aircraft.
