Home Industry Hospitality Dubai’s Sunset Hospitality Group announces new Bali openings The group plans to expand its global footprint with the launch of 20 new venues by the end of this year by Gulf Business March 30, 2023 Dubai-headquartered Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG) has announced its expansion into Indonesia with the introduction of new brands Santana and Mamasita, as well as the regional debuts for Folie and Attiko. It has partnered with Bali property developer, Mirah Investment and Development, in a joint venture that will see the launch of all four venues in the second and third quarter of 2023. Folie and Attiko are set to form part of Secana Beachtown located in Bali’s southern Canggu region and are both scheduled to open in Q2 2023. Folie is a pool-club concept, and the Bali opening will be Sunset Hospitality Group’s second global Folie venue, following the debut of the brand in Bodrum. Attiko is a rooftop lounge that serves an Asian fusion menu curated by Chef Moon. The Bali outpost will be Attiko’s third location worldwide after having previously opened in Dubai and Bodrum. A fourth Attiko is also scheduled to open in Q3 this year in Vietnam. Santana and Mamasita, both also in Canggu, will launch in July as standalone venues. Santana is a Latin brasserie focusing on the most prime steak cuts and eclectic dishes from South America, while Mamasita is a bar concept. The group added that it is “actively exploring additional opportunities that may result in further portfolio brands entering the Bali market.” Scott Matson, head of business development and acquisitions at Mirah Investment and Development, said, “We envision our partnership as the start of a long-standing collaboration between both parties to further enhance Bali’s growing dining and lifestyle market.” SHG has said that it would expand its global footprint with the launch of 20 new venues by the end of the calendar year. “We are truly delighted to announce four new venues in Bali and our partnership with Mirah,” said Antonio Gonzalez, CEO of SHG. “Over the course of the next few months, we will be confirming further new venues across various markets, from Asia to Europe, as well as North Africa, and of course more in our home region, the Middle East.” SHG’s portfolio includes concepts such as METT Hotels and Resorts, Azure Beach, Ammos, Drift Beach Club, AURA, SUSHISAMBA, DREAM, and Isola, among others. SHG plans to increase its portfolio to more than 50 operating venues in 14 countries this year. Last year, it secured US$35 million in funding from Goldman Sachs Asset Management to support its expansion plans.
