An original handwritten advertisement for the Apple-1 Computer, exclusively penned by Steve Jobs, has been sold for $175,759 at RR Auction. The artifact is a draft specification sheet showcasing the innovative Apple-1 and has Jobs’ signature in lowercase, “steven jobs.”

It also contains contact information, including his parents’ address and phone number, historically linking it to the original headquarters of the Apple Computer Company.

It is reported that the ad was created on a 8.5 x 11 binder sheet in black ink in 1976 and outlined the advanced technical aspects of the Apple-1.

Ad draft details

Within this draft, Jobs highlighted the computer’s features, power supplies, 8K bytes of RAM, a complete CRT terminal with keyboard input, composite video output, and expandability up to 65K through an edge connector.

The advertisement includes two Polaroid photos from The Byte Shop, capturing a fully assembled Apple-1 board and a computer screen displaying an Apple Basic programme.

Of particular intrigue is the price point Jobs quotes in the draft: a modest $75 for the “board only + manual,” which he considers a “real deal.”
