Under the 27-year agreement, Spinneys will establish a massive 500,000 square foot processing facility within Food Tech Valley. The new processing facility will significantly expand the capabilities of Food Tech Valley, making it a more comprehensive hub for food technology and innovation. Spinneys’ investment in the facility will contribute to increasing the UAE’s domestic food production capacity, reducing its reliance on imports. The project, expected to be operational soon, will create new jobs and stimulate economic growth in the region. Spinney’s CEO Sunil Kumar said, “As a homegrown brand, we are committed to the well-being of our customers, our communities, and the UAE ecosystem. This aligns with the UAE government’s ambitious goal of becoming a global leader in food security by 2051. Food Tech Valley is developing a wide range of facilities and services, including production zones, warehousing, logistics, cold-storage facilities, an innovation and R&D centre, an academy, a business park, a marketplace, a visitor centre, and residential areas.
