The Singapore Tourism Board is working on developing attractive packages for regional visitors

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is keen to build on the 2.46 million business travellers and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions) visitors to the city in 2017 – and particularly secure more delegations from the Middle East.

“We have seen a good number of quality meetings and incentive groups from Middle East clients, who value Singapore’s capability to assist with the planning of business events, be it a simple meeting or themed dinner hosted for hundreds of VIPs and guests,” G B Srithar, regional director – South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board, wrote in a supplement in this month’s Business Traveller Middle East magazine.

He said it will be working closely with corporates and the travel trade in 2019 to deliver “more meaningful and memorable events”.

The STB’s tourism strategy is underpinned by the ‘Passion Made Possible’ slogan and it has seven ‘passion tribes’ which provide visitors with different experiences.

With its renowned food scene, tourism attractions on Sentosa Island and cultural and historical tours, the ‘Lion City’ is perfect for combining business and leisure.

Financial support is available for business and MICE events and the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau (SECB) can provide venue, agency and business partnership support.
