The annual fun run is the culmination of the city-wide, month-long health initiative – the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Dubai Run route on Sheikh Zayed Road The annual event, one of the world’s biggest open marathons, is hosted by Dubai Fitness Challenge and sees pro and amateur runners race along the famous road. The run is free to attend and open to participants of all ages and fitness abilities. The Dubai Run has a choice of a 5k or 10k route and starts at the Museum of the Future. The 5k route goes along the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Opera and ends near Dubai Mall. The run’s flat route is suitable for runners of all ages and abilities. The 10k route follows Sheikh Zayed Road to the Dubai Canal, then returns towards the Trade Centre and ends at The Gate, DIFC. This extended run is suited to more experienced runners. The busy road will be closed to motorists as the run has a start time of 06:30 am on Sunday, November 26. Organisers suggest taking the metro if you need to get to the area for the sporting event or for any other reason. Metro route for Dubai Run: Metro lines will open at 03:00 am on Sunday to accommodate riders. If you are on the 5km route, head for World Trade Centre metro station to reach the start line. If you are running the 10km route, head for Emirates Towers metro station to reach the start line. If you plan to use the metro, please make sure you have a NOL card with a minimum balance of Dhs15 before Dubai Run to minimise queues on the day.
