Home GCC UAE Sheikh Mohammed meets with Chinese President in Beijing The UAE leader is in Beijing to participate in the Belt and Road conference by Gulf Business April 25, 2019 The UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, on the sidelines of the Belt and Road conference in Beijing. The two leaders discussed bilateral ties and ways to improve them. “We [UAE] are the biggest partner with them [China] in the region. China is showcasing its mega initiative – launched six years ago – which aims expand trade and connect about 70 countries. Earlier, Sheikh Mohammed also met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
