This is the result of a new decree by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai. Mada Media Company, a private joint-stock company (PJSC), will be tasked with managing, developing, and operating advertising sites across Dubai. The company will also invest in advertising technologies, conduct related research, and ensure regulatory compliance. It has the authority to form partnerships, own assets, and sign contracts with third parties to achieve its objectives both within and outside the emirate. Under the new law, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Municipality are empowered to delegate all or part of their advertising-related functions to Mada. This delegation aims to support Mada in fulfilling its set objectives. The law also stipulates that the RTA and Dubai Municipality, in coordination with the Dubai Investment Fund, will transfer their advertising-related assets, rights, and obligations to the company. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, issued a decision forming the board of directors for Mada Media. The board will be chaired by Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, along with Hussein Mohammed Al Banna as vice chairman. Other members include Wissam AlAbbas Hussain Lootah, Mariam Obaid Al Muhairi, Mohammed Yousef Al Mudharreb, Ahmad Hassan Mahboub, Moaza Saeed Al Marri, Shehab Hamad Bu Shehab, and Saeed Mohammed Al Marri. This decision is effective immediately and will be published in an official gazette.
