Sheikh Mohammed covers expenses of Russian tourist who lost her mother in Dubai

The woman ended up with a bill of $228,700 for the treatment for her mother, who suffered a cardiac arrest

Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has offered financial help to a Russian tourist who lost her mother due to a sudden cardiac arrest in Dubai during a family trip to the city.

The Russian tourist, Anastasia Popova, who was on holiday in Dubai with her mother and two daughters, ended up with a bill of $228,700 for the treatment for her mother, who collapsed during the family vacation in Dubai due to a rupture in her heart.

Unfortunately, despite surgery, the elderly woman passed away in a private UAE hospital, leaving the family with the hefty hospital bill.

Sheikh Mohammed will cover the expenses for the treatment, transport of the woman’s body back to her homeland and the flight tickets for the family to travel back to Russia, Dubai Media Office reported.

“What His Highness Sheikh Mohammad did for us is magical. He is a man with a very big heart. I cannot put into words my happiness about his decision to take care of everything for us,” Popova told local daily Gulf News.
