Taking to Instagram, the UAE leader posted a video and a message expressing optimism about emerging from the crisis. “We overcame the Covid-19 crisis and learned many lessons from the experience. As life in the UAE begins to return to normal, we give thanks to God,” he wrote. On Wednesday, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 156 Covid-19 infections, taking the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 737,229, including 730,309 recoveries. Three additional deaths due to Covid-19 complications were reported as well, increasing the death toll to 2,107. The UAE has also reopened schools for all students to resume in-person learning, while the economy has also started to pick up with several companies hiring locally. The country is also currently hosting Expo 2020 Dubai – the biggest in-person gathering to be held worldwide since the outbreak of the pandemic. The six-month long event, which began on October 1, has 192 country pavilions and aims to attract 25 million visits from across the world.
