Sharjah Media Centre (SMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Motivate Publishing for the distribution and marketing of their book, Monuments of Sharjah, in the Literature Forum Hall at the Sharjah International Book Fair.
The agreement was signed by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, chairman of SMC, and Ian Fairservice, managing partner and group editor of Motivate.
“The signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Motivate Publishing to distribute, Monuments of Sharjah, is truly a special occasion for us considering the importance of this book,” said Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qasimi.
“Sharjah is known for its magnificent monuments, celebrating the best of Arab and Islamic architecture and culture. This book captures it all with its stunning images and history. I hope everyone will visit the Sharjah Media Centre pavilion at the Book Fair or other outlets across the country to get hold of this exquisite book.”
Monuments of Sharjah showcases the popular public squares and historical buildings of Sharjah through distinct and rare photographs capturing the old and modern history of the emirate.
It details the historical background of events and places, including Rolla Square and the first and second Majaz Squares.
Martyrs’ Monument, Sharjah Municipality, the Palm Monument and Al Taawun Monument are among the other locations featured.
Under the MoU, Motivate has exclusive rights for the distribution and marketing of the book in the UAE and GCC countries.
This includes distribution in retail and promotion across all major outlets within the UAE.
Following the signing of the MoU, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qasimi toured the Sharjah International Book Fair and visited the stands of Motivate and other publishing houses.
This year the media centre pavilion was a big attraction and featured new releases including Press: Ethics & Career, based on the thoughts of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and his vision for the media.
