The new facility will accept walk-in registrations and will also serve as a testing facility for volunteers who want to participate in the world’s first clinical Phase III trial of an inactivated vaccine for Covid-19, reported news agency WAM. The field clinic is able to accommodate 1,000 volunteers per day. Those who wish to volunteer can visit the clinic without prior appointment or registration, seven days a week from 8am-8pm. Volunteers will receive on-site Covid-19 screening. Health authorities in the UAE have issued a permit for up to 15,000 volunteers to take part in the trials. The phase III clinical trial follows the success of the phase I and phase II trials conducted by Sinopharm in China, which resulted in 100 per cent of the volunteers generating antibodies after two doses in 28 days.
