Home GCC Saudi Arabia Saudi’s NEOM selects Oracle Cloud to accelerate IT workloads NEOM will be able to increase agility across business processes and accelerate innovation by accessing new cloud services on-premises by Zainab Mansoor July 5, 2022 Oracle has announced that NEOM Tech & Digital Company, the technology company powering the first cognitive digital ecosystem at NEOM, has selected Oracle dedicated region Cloud@Customer to create a scalable platform for all mission-critical IT workloads. NEOM will implement Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) public cloud services and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to address local data residency and latency requirements and reduce operating costs for its 36MW ZeroPoint DC data centre. NEOM will be able to increase agility across all business processes and accelerate innovation by accessing new cloud services on-premises. Additionally, it will be able to pare database administration costs by up to 80 per cent and deploy resources to focus on innovations with Oracle Autonomous Database on Exadata Cloud@Customer. Saudi’s smart city will be able to run its entire portfolio of IT workloads on a single-tenant, flexible cloud infrastructure with the same SLAs for availability, manageability, and performance as a single availability domain in an Oracle public cloud region, a statement said. “NEOM’s vision of building the world’s first cognitive community means harnessing the latest digital technologies,” said Richard Smith, executive vice president – technology, EMEA, Oracle. “The Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer has been designed to address demanding data residency and privacy requirements and, with this, we can focus on ensuring our customers can run a self-contained region where all hosted data remain local to that region.” Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer is a self-contained cloud region that provides all benefits of the public cloud without hosted customer data ever having to leave the NEOM data centre. Fabio Fontana, CEO, ZeroPoint DC and chief growth officer, NEOM Tech & Digital Company, said: “Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer is a natural progression of our ZeroPoint DC partnership with Oracle, and will allow us to fully tap into the potential of cognitive solutions that we are developing.” Last year, NEOM Tech & Digital Holding Company announced Oracle as the first tenant of its hyperscale data centre.
