Saudi Sahara, Ma’aden Petchem Plant Shut For Maintenance In April

An affiliate of Saudi Arabian mining firm Ma’aden and Sahara Petrohechemical Co plans to shut down its petrochemical plant in April for scheduled maintenance, Ma’aden said on Wednesday.

The plant, in Jubail, is operated by Sahara & Ma’aden Petrochemicals Co (SAMAPCO) and will be offline for 25 days from April 1. SAMAPCO is equally owned by its two parents.

The shutdown will have no “significant” financial impact on Ma’aden, the statement said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Ma’aden said separately that its subsidiary Maaden Phosphate Co had shut down an ammonia plant because of unscheduled technical repairs at a cooling facility.
