Saudi Prince executed in Riyadh for murder

Prince Turki bin Saud bin Turki bin Saud Al-Kabeer pleaded guilty to shooting to death another Saudi national

A Saudi prince has been executed in Riyadh after he was found guilty of murder, the official Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

Prince Turki bin Saud bin Turki bin Saud Al-Kabeer pleaded guilty to shooting to death another Saudi national – Adel bin Sulaiman bin Abdulkareem Al-Mihaimeed – following a quarrel in 2012, SPA quoted the Ministry of Interior as saying.

The prince was apprehended following an investigation into the case and he was referred to the General Court where he was sentenced to death in retribution.

The verdict was supported by the Court of Appeal and later endorsed by the Supreme Court. A royal order was then issued to execute the courts’ ruling, SPA said.

The Ministry of Interior said that the Saudi government is “keen to keep order, stabilise security and bring about justice through implementing the rules prescribed by Allah Almighty on whoever violates the sanctity of civilians and commits bloodshed.”
