Saudi King Salman’s brother, Prince Bandar, passes away

Prince Bandar was the tenth son of Saudi’s first ruler King Abdulaziz Al Saud

Saudi King Salman’s elder half-brother, Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 96, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Prince Bandar, the tenth son of Saudi’s first ruler King Abdulaziz Al Saud, was the eldest surviving member of the ruling family.

He was not politically active, but his sons hold high-level posts in Riyadh and Makkah.

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a cable of condolences to King Salman.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent similar messages of condolences to King Salman.

The rulers of all the other emirates also sent their condolences to the Saudi king.
