Prince Bandar, the tenth son of Saudi’s first ruler King Abdulaziz Al Saud, was the eldest surviving member of the ruling family. He was not politically active, but his sons hold high-level posts in Riyadh and Makkah. UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a cable of condolences to King Salman. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent similar messages of condolences to King Salman.
