Abdullah bin Eid bin Barka al-Awfi and Nader bin Mohammed bin Bakhit al-Awfi were convicted of encouraging Nayef bin Hamoud bin Mubarak al-Awfi and his father to come to a desert area so they could harm them. When they arrived, Nayef was shot and killed and his father was kidnapped and robbed. The two suspects were later arrested by security authorities and referred to the Criminal Court. A guilty verdict was upheld by the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, following which a royal order is required to carry out an execution. The two Saudi nationals were executed at the general prison in Madinah. It was unclear whether the suspects and victims were related. Three Saudi men were also executed on Monday after being convicted of robbing and killing five Indian men after luring them to a remote farm.
