Home GCC Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia will host global Artificial Intelligence summit in 2020 The event, slated to be held in Riyadh in March, will facilitate AI knowledge exchange by Zainab Mansoor October 29, 2019 Saudi Arabia announced the launch of the Global AI summit to develop artificial intelligence (AI) and related technologies, a statement said. The summit will be held in Riyadh in March next year, and will offer a forum to convene global AI experts for knowledge sharing and development. It will also host an exhibition and AI experience zone, enabling attendees to experience artificial intelligence in action and identify different usages for the technology. The event, part of the Kingdom’s plans to develop AI technology, will also help foster partnerships between entities, institutions and innovators in the AI sphere. “Artificial intelligence is playing a central role in the digital transformation of all sectors of human activity, from business and enterprise, to key national industries, government, healthcare, and many more areas beside,” said HE Dr Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, president of Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). “AI is bringing us new insight and new capabilities that is reshaping the world around us. The Global AI Summit will become an international platform to discuss those changes and to understand how AI technology can be utilized for the benefit of all.” Established by royal decree in August 2019, the Saudi Data and Artificial intelligence Authority aims to facilitate the advancement and usage of AI in the Kingdom.
