On Wednesday, Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy S23 line-up, which features better cameras, better battery life, and an improved design compared to its predecessors.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23, is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform and has AI and future-ready mobile gaming feature.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, is also equipped with the S Pen that many long-time Galaxy users are familiar with, which offers more possibilities for productivity, note taking, hobbies, and more.

Display and camera
The S23 Ultra, Samsung’s top-tier model with a 6.8-inch screen, is built using more durable materials like upgraded Corning glass and features a 200-megapixel wide-angle camera, up from 108 megapixels.

It uses pixel binning to support multiple levels of high-resolution processing at once. The series also introduces fast autofocus and Super HDR selfie camera, jumping from 30fps to 60fps, for noticeably better front-facing images and videos.

The camera also gets better video stabilisation, and the phone’s design has new curves on the edges.

Meanwhile, for users who want the creative control and customisation, the Galaxy S23 series offers a suite of tools that differentiate any photography experience.

The Expert RAW app, available exclusively on Samsung Galaxy, enables DSLR-style image shooting and editing in RAW and JPEG. Users can experiment with multiple exposures photo art or capture a clear view of the Milky Way with Astrophoto settings, and after being downloaded on Galaxy S23, Expert RAW features can be accessed within Samsung’s native camera app.

Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Gen 2 processor powers the device, and Samsung promises better battery life with the help of dynamic display adjustments.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S23 and S23+ share features with the S23 Ultra, though have smaller displays — 6.1 inches and 6.6 inches — and lesser camera technology. Still, in a nod to more professionally inclined photographers, Samsung’s phones now support RAW image files for greater editing control.

On Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23, the Samsung Galaxy camera also gets an upgraded look. The contour housing has been removed, marking a new era of essential Galaxy design.

Mobile gaming
For creators and gamers, Samsung and Qualcomm optimised the experience with the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform. Meanwhile, on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, a 5000mAh battery powers a larger camera.

A newly designed CPU micro architecture boosts the processing abilities of the Galaxy S23 series by about 30 per cent compared to the Galaxy S22 series.

In anticipation of the future of ultimate digital realism, Galaxy S23 Ultra comes ready to support real-time ray tracing as it comes to the mobile gaming mainstream. Users will be able to see noticeably more lifelike renderings of scenes, thanks to technology that simulates and tracks every ray of light. Plus, Samsung Galaxy’s vapour chamber, now bigger and on every Galaxy S23 series model, keeps your gaming marathon going.

Storage
Samsung has simplified its storage tiers and colours for the new models.

The S23 continues to come in 128-gigabyte and 256GB storage options, while the S23+ will eliminate the lower storage tier and only come in 256GB and 512GB configurations.

The S23 Ultra continues to come in a one-terabyte option.

Availability
The Galaxy S23 series comes in four colours: Phantom Black, Cream, Green and Lavender, as well as additional exclusive colours that are only available to order on the brand’s website. They are priced at $799, $999 and $1,199.

Starting on February 17, 2023, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 will be widely available in carriers and retailers, and on Samsung.com

In related news, Eros has announced that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Series is now available for pre-order along with freebies worth Dhs1800, across all its stores in the UAE and online starting from February 1 to 16, 2023.

At Eros, the S23 phone is available with a 0 per cent installment plan for Emirates NBD, ADCB, Emirates Islamic card holders or buy-now-pay-later with Tabby along with various trade-in schemes from the brand.
