Home GCC UAE Sainsbury’s enters UAE through exclusive partnership with Kibsons There will be over 500 products from Sainsbury’s available to purchase via Kibsons by Varun Godinho October 11, 2020 Dubai-based importer and distributor of vegetables, dairy products, and meat, Kibsons, has partnered with British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s in order to retail the latter’s products within the UAE starting October 15. It is the first time that Sainsbury’s products will be available to purchase in the UAE. There will be over 500 products from Sainsbury’s available to purchase via Kibsons. These include frozen seafood, pizza, bread, pastry and fruits, biscuits and savoury snacks. It will also include fruit and cooking sauces, canned items, soups, spreads, oils and vinegars and well as cereals and pantry essentials including rice, sugar, flour, pasta and rice. “Sainsbury’s is synonymous with high quality and affordable food and we are thrilled to be partnering with them and offering our customers a further enhanced shopping experience. We are extremely excited to launch an initial 500 products, with more to follow in the near future,” said Halima Jumani, director of Kibsons. Richard Hodges, head of sales and wholesale buying at Sainsbury’s Supermarkets LTD added: “We are pleased to be introducing our great quality products to customers in the UAE via our partnership with Kibsons. Kibsons’ fresh food credentials and excellent customer service are famous throughout the UAE and we look forward to working closely with them.” In related news, another British supermarket major, Waitrose & Partners, has recently launched its first e-commerce platform outside of the UK, in the UAE. The portal is home to a range of over 15,000 quality food and drinks items designed for customers who want to shop for their groceries online. Orders below Dhs350 come with a flat delivery charge of Dhs15, while orders above it are delivered for free.
