In a move that’s sure to raise eyebrows and elicit laughs, Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Reynolds has been appointed as the latest chief island officer of Yas Island Abu Dhabi, following in the footsteps of stars like Jason Momoa and Kevin Hart.
Reynolds, best known for his role as the irreverent Deadpool, will now be tasked with putting Yas Island on the map for an international audience. And he wasted no time in making his mark, appearing in a teaser campaign released on Instagram.
In the promotional video, Reynolds, known for his quick wit and comedic timing, can be seen skydiving onto the Abu Dhabi island. However, true to form, he misses the mark and lands directly on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit instead of the intended landing spot at the W Abu Dhabi Hotel.
