Home UAE Dubai Dubai gets new weekend bus service to this beach; more citywide route changes A new weekend-only bus service, W20, will run from Friday to Sunday, from Stadium Metro Station to Al Mamzar every half hour between 5 pm and 11 pm by Neesha Salian February 9, 2024 Have plans to visit Al Mamzar this weekend? If you do, ditch your car (and cut your carbon footprint) and take the bus to this popular Dubai beach. The RTA has unveiled a new weekend-only bus service, W20. This special bus route runs from Friday to Sunday, whisking you away from Stadium Metro Station to Al Mamzar every half hour between 5 pm and 11 pm. But that’s not all. The RTA is giving several other routes a tune-up to elevate the daily transportation experience for passengers. Route 11B is now Route 11, while Routes 16A and 16B are being rerouted, with their names changed to Routes 16 and 25 respectively. Route 16 will take you from Al Rashdiya Bus Station to Al Awir, while Route 25 will transport you from the Gold Souq Bus Station straight to Al Rashdiya. RTA tweaks other bus routes for smoother journeys Other routes are also getting tweaked to enable smoother, shorter commutes. Route F62 is expanding its reach, incorporating Dubai Festival City and Al Garhoud neighborhood. You can also hop on the extended Route C04 that reaches the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, if you want to visit the first-of-its-kind library that uses artificial intelligence (AI) in its operations, including in choosing titles and borrowing and returning books. Missing the buzz at Global Village? Routes 103 and 106 are now going non-stop from main stations to the Global Village, making your shopping spree a breeze. Sharjah residents can also hop on E303, which is taking a new route via Al Ittihad Street to get you there faster. RTA also intends to optimise several Public Bus routes to elevate the daily transportation experience for passengers, ensuring smoother, more comfortable journeys to various destinations across the emirate. Routes 5, 7, 62, 81, 110, C04, C09, E306, E307A, F12, F15, F26, and SH1 are all “speeding up”, saving commuters precious time on their commutes.
