If Ramadan does, as predicted last 30 days, then the UAE is likely to receive a six-day weekend starting Saturday, April 30 and ending on Thursday, May 5.

However, if Ramadan is 29 days this year, then residents of the UAE are likely to get a five-day holiday extending from April 30 to May 4.

There has been no official confirmation yet on the dates of the holidays for either the public or private sector within the UAE.

The official working hours for federal government employees during Ramadan is from 9am-2.30pm from Monday-Thursday, and from 9am-12pm on Fridays. Private sector employees meanwhile will be able to avail of a reduction of two hours daily during Ramadan.
