To ensure the safety of attendees and manage traffic during the celebrations, Ras Al Khaimah Police have announced road closures across key areas in the emirate. From 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, the following major roads will be closed: Emirates Roundabout Union Bridge Al Hamra Roundabout Cove Rotana Bridge From 3:00 PM, additional closures will affect: Al-Ra’fa area (towards Ras Al Khaimah) Exit 110 on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road Authorities have urged motorists to use alternative routes and plan ahead to avoid congestion. Public transport services will also be impacted. Buses on the Red Route, which connects Al Nakheel with Al Jazirah Al Hamra, will face partial disruptions due to traffic changes along Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Street. A free-entry spectacle The New Year’s Eve show will feature three acts blending fireworks, laser drones, and artistic displays celebrating Ras Al Khaimah’s natural and cultural heritage. With free entry, organisers are anticipating large crowds as the emirate strengthens its reputation for hosting mega New Year’s events. A history of record-breaking displays Ras Al Khaimah dazzled audiences welcoming 2024 with a record-breaking eight-minute fireworks and drone display, setting two Guinness World Records for the longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks (5.8 km) and the longest straight-line drone display (2 km). The show that rang in 2024 combined 1,050 LED drones, a ‘carpet’ of aquatic fireworks, and acrobatic pyro planes, highlighting the emirate’s desert, sea, and mountains.
