Home Brand View Ras Al Khaimah offers overnight guests guaranteed prizes as part of new summer campaign The emirate’s summer tourism campaign, WANASA, which offers discounts and complimentary passes to Dubai Parks and Resorts, is currently underway until September 15 by Gulf Business June 30, 2021 Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has launched its new summer campaign, WANASA, under which accompanied children aged 12 and under can stay for free at several hotels across the emirate when bookings are made for a minimum of three nights. The campaign which is currently underway until September 15, offers all guests booking a stay of three nights or more at participating three-, four- and five-star hotels in Ras Al Khaimah an automatic 40 per cent discount on admission to Dubai Parks and Resorts, which includes attractions such as Legoland, Motiongate, and Bollywood Parks. As part of the WANASA – W for winner; A for authentic; N for nature; A for adventure; S for sea; and A for a lot more – campaign, a ‘Book. Scratch. Win’ scratch card will be provided to all guests in the emirate upon check-in, which they can avail for guaranteed prizes. These include complimentary access to Dubai Parks and Resorts, Jebel Jais Flight, Jais Sky Tour, Al Hamra Golf Club, Bedouin Oasis Camp and Suwaidi Pearl Farm, in addition to free stays and upgrades across the emirate’s hotels as well as a a range of discounts at local restaurants including Thunder Road Pizza and Grill. Last year, RAKTDA’s summer promotion campaign generated more than 15,000 room nights over three months and produced 65 million media impressions. “With our diverse tourism portfolio spanning adventure, nature, wellness, family fun, culture and more, Ras Al Khaimah has plenty to offer visitors, from UAE residents planning a staycation to overseas travellers looking to explore. WANASA not only captures what they can experience, but also how they will feel when they stay with us. It capitalises on the positive momentum of previous campaigns, keeping the emirate top of mind as a must-visit destination,” said Raki Phillips, CEO of RAKTDA. The 2021 edition of the summer campaign ties into RAKTDA’s new ‘Rakashida’ logo, which is inspired by the ‘kashida’ from Arabic calligraphy. In May, the RAKTDA announced over 20 sustainable tourism development initiatives across the emirate marking an investment of Dhs500m, in partnership with RAK Hospitality Holding and RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Among the several planned projects for the emirate, it includes eco-hotels, glamping offerings, outdoor cinemas, and other activities geared towards experiential tourism. Ras Al Khaimah aims to attract 2.9 million visitors per year by 2025 and tourism is central to its economic diversification strategy. These include deals with the likes of Ukraine International Airlines, flyEgypt, and Rossiya, among others. RAKTDA also recently confirmed that all international visitors who stay for two consecutive nights in the emirate, can avail of a free Covid-19 test at RAK Hospital or the RAK Medical Centre in Al Hamra Mall. The offer is available until September 30, 2021. The emirate has ensured that Covid-19 protocols are strictly adhered to across all tourism touch points. Until July 1, shopping centres operate at 60 per cent capacity, public beaches and parks at 70 per cent and cinemas, recreational activities, and closed hall events at 50 per cent capacity. Ras Al Khaimah was named the Gulf Tourism Capital for both 2020 and 2021 by the Gulf Cooperation Council and also recognised as the world’s first ‘safe’ city, certified by Bureau Veritas; and the first emirate to receive the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) ‘Safe Travels’ stamp.
